Former Cruiserweight Champion Hurricane Helms was one of the longest-reigning Champions in WWE history. The veteran captured the title at the 2006 edition of the Royal Rumble, putting an exclamation point on his transition from Raw to SmackDown.
The Hurricane was once a mild mannered reporter who doubled as a WWE superhero. He devoted several years to fighting for justice on Raw every Monday night, but now, Helms' is focused on making his name known on SmackDown.
Prior to entering WWE, Helms was a star in WCW, where he held the Cruiserweight and Hardcore Championships. As The Hurricane in WWE, he once again held the Cruiserweight Championship, and also teamed with Kane to win the World Tag Team Championship. For a brief time during WrestleMania X8, he also held the WWE Hardcore Championship.
In 2007, Hurricane Helms was injured when he broke his neck, and spent all of 2007 and most of 2008 recovering from the surgery. But now, Helms is ready to return to action, and he hopes to pick up right where he left off.
