Preview:WWE Champion John Cena vs. Batista ("I Quit" Match)

WWE Champion John Cena will face Batista in an “I Quit” Match for the WWE Title at Over the Limit, which will be the last time these two Superstars meet in the squared circle for the championship.

The storied rivalry between Cena and Batista has only intensified in recent months after their harrowing collision at WrestleMania XXVI, when The Champ capitalized with an STF and made The Animal tap out, capturing his seventh WWE Title.

Labeling Cena’s victory on The Grandest Stage of Them All a “fluke,” Batista challenged The Champ for the title once again at Extreme Rules in a Last Man Standing Match, one of the most brutal and physically taxing matches WWE has to offer. Ultimately, it was Cena’s ingenuity that would slay the 6-foot-6 behemoth when he taped Batista’s ankles around a ring post, preventing the incensed Animal from rising to his feet. Ten counts later, Cena emerged triumphant yet again, proving to Batista and the entire WWE Universe that it takes more than just brute force to secure championships.

Humiliated, Batista appeared on the May 3 edition of Raw to issue a Beat the Clock Challenge to determine the stipulation for their Over the Limit championship encounter, which Cena won later that night. The following week on Raw, Cena announced the WWE title bout would be an “I Quit” Match, an anything goes contest that both of these battle-hardened competitors are more than familiar with — for better or worse.

As its name suggests, the only way to win an “I Quit” Match is to make your opponent utter the words “I quit” by any means necessary. Both Cena and Batista will need to push themselves to the limit—and over it—for the WWE Championship at WWE Over the Limit Sunday, May 23, only on pay-per-view.

Preview:World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger vs. Big Show

At Over the Limit, a volatile battle between a supreme squared circle technician and a dominant giant threatens to rock SmackDown to its very foundation, as World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger defends his title against Big Show.

Just 24 hours after Swagger’s defeat of Randy Orton at Extreme Rules, the 2010 WWE Draft changed the landscape of Friday nights forever. Edge and Chris Jericho, top contenders for the World Title, were suddenly drafted to Raw, leaving a huge hole in the top contenders list to challenge Jack Swagger. But, the size of that void was quickly filled by a larger-than-life Superstar.

On the first SmackDown following Extreme Rules, General Manager Theodore Long wasted no time naming newly-drafted Big Show as the No. 1 contender to the “The All-American American.” Moments later, The World’s Largest Athlete put an exclamation mark on the announcement by knocking Swagger out in the middle of the ring. Despite his decisive statement, can the enormous Superstar topple the talented new champion from the throne?

Although Jack Swagger has traveled a rocky road since cashing in the Money in the Bank Briefcase to win his first World Championship – suffering non-title loses to The Undertaker, John Morrison and Randy Orton – he has proven that he can win when it counts. Like him or hate him, the two-time collegiate All-American’s entire life has served as a moniker for championship victory. And despite his braggadocious demeanor, Swagger has established that he has what it takes to keep the title around his waist.

Big Show returns to SmackDown hotter than ever. Among the many dangerous weapons in his arsenal, the gigantic former World Champion carries with him a devastating knockout punch – one that took out not only Swagger on his return to Friday night, but also Chris Jericho and Edge. His towering intimidation is matched by a tremendous athletic talent, making him one very lethal No. 1 contender.

Preview:Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk (S.E.S. Pledge vs. Hair Match)

If you've been keeping score, it's all tied up between Rey Mysterio and CM Punk.
At WrestleMania XXVI, The Ultimate Underdog downed Punk with the 619 to prevent having to join The Straight Edge Society.

Then at Extreme Rules, Punk defeated The Master of the 619 to protect his hair.
Now, at Over the Limit, one Superstar will be forced to make a drastic change.

If Mysterio loses, he must join The Straight Edge Society. And if Punk loses, Rey gets to shave his head!
If you look deeper than the match stipulations, there may be some extra motivation for Mysterio to win.

Leading up to their WrestleMania match, Mysterio was forced to endure The Second City Saint’s taunting of his family.

And in recent weeks, Mysterio has been the victim of sneak attacks from a mysterious hooded person who has yet to be indentified. Clearly though, the individual has allegiances to The Straight Edge Society. Will this individual play a role at Over the Limit?

Regardless of who has more motivation to win, the bottom line is that someone’s future is going to change.

Will Rey find himself forced to stand side-by-side with Luke Gallows, Serena and CM Punk? Or, will Punk lose what he calls a symbol of his purity? Find out at Over the Limit, live Sunday, May 23, only on pay-per-view.

Preview:Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre vs. Kofi Kingston

It’s not often that you receive second chances in WWE, but Kofi Kingston gets just that at Over the Limit.

After defeating Christian on SmackDown – and claiming the vacated Intercontinental Championship – Kingston was elated at winning the prestigious title for the second time in his career. The celebration was short-lived, however.

Fired Superstar and ex-champion Drew McIntyre shocked the WWE Universe – and SmackDown General Manger Theodore Long alike – by sauntering into the ring and delivering a written letter – the contents of which prompted Long to order Kingston to hand over the title. Kingston complied, and Long then begrudgingly gave the title to McIntyre.

Later on SmackDown, it was revealed that Mr. McMahon had written the letter.By the stroke of his mighty pen, The Chairman overruled Long’s recent decision to strip McIntyre of the Intercontinental Title and fire him from WWE. Going a step further, Mr. McMahon also declared in his letter that McIntyre is still the reigning Intercontinental Champion.

As evidenced in his match against Christian, Kofi has already proven he has the fire within to become Intercontinental Champion. Now, can he do the same against the seemingly untouchable Superstar personally signed by Mr. McMahon himself? And if McIntyre were to lose, just how far is The Chairman willing to go to keep McIntyre in the winner’s circle?

Preview:Unified Tag Team Champions The Hart Dynasty vs. The Miz & Chris Jericho

From the moment he was drafted to Monday Night Raw, Chris Jericho has been plotting and scheming for a path toward championship gold. He just may have found it when he teamed up with his fellow egotist, The Miz.

After weeks of trash talk and underhanded attacks, The “Screaming Egos” will finally get an opportunity to capture the Unified Tag Team Titles against reigning champions The Hart Dynasty.

The bout was arranged after Jericho managed to defeat The Hart Dynasty’s David Hart Smith in singles competition. On the same evening, however, Smith’s partner Tyson Kidd evened the score when he notched a win against Miz in a second singles match. Both outcomes serve as an indication that these teams appear evenly matched. However, while both Jericho and Miz have held the Unified Tag Team Titles before, they have not held them while teaming together.

The Unified Tag Team Champions carry a storied history and lineage of Superstars in their corner. But will a remarkable bloodline really be enough for Hart Smith & Kidd to overcome the experience and win-at-all-cost attitude of Jericho & Miz?

Preview:Randy Orton vs. Edge

Tensions between Randy Orton and Edge are reaching their breaking point in the lead-up to Over the Limit, where the Superstars once known collectively as the tag team Rated-RKO will go head-to-head. Joining the Raw roster in the 2010 WWE Draft, Edge was quick to establish himself as a dominating force on Monday nights, Spearing Randy Orton and costing The Viper a No. 1 contender’s spot just moments after he was drafted.

But WWE’s Apex Predator wasn’t about to slip down the food chain. Appearing on Edge’s talk show “The Cutting Edge” on the May 3 edition of Raw, an infuriated Orton silenced the former SmackDown Superstar, delivering an RKO not only to Edge, but to “Let’s Make a Deal” star Wayne Brady. When it comes to these two bitter rivals, not even Raw guest hosts are safe.

Before Orton put an abrupt end to the Raw return of “The Cutting Edge,” The Ultimate Opportunist suggested that the two Superstars once again join forces. As Rated-RKO, Orton and Edge became World Tag Team Champions in 2006, waging a series of battles with D-Generation-X before breaking up the following year. Given the last few tumultuous weeks, a Rated-RKO reunion seems unlikely to happen anytime soon.
