Results:Cena's drive shows no "quit"

DETROIT – When WWE Champion John Cena and his opponent Batista faced off in an “I Quit” Match, it seemed entirely appropriate that the two Hemi-powered heavyweights found themselves dueling in the Motor City. Each man buried the speedometer as they rumbled toward each other until, finally, The Animal ran out of fuel and was forced to utter those infamous words, “I quit.”

For months, Batista had complained about The Champ, stating that The Animal should be the real “face of WWE.” That animosity only intensified after Batista was embarrassed in a Last Man Standing Match when Cena prevailed by duct-taping his feet together around one of the ring posts.

As for Cena, The Champ has appeared more than willing to accept the challenge of the former two-time WWE Champion. Despite several less-than-savory tactics on behalf of Batista, Cena refused to complain. Instead, he contained his fury, waiting until Sunday to fire on all cylinders.

His victory, however, ran into a roadblock when Sheamus decided to pour sugar in Cena’s tank. Rather than allow The Champ to celebrate his incredible accomplishment, the Irishman attacked Cena with a swift kick to the face.

Results:Tempting the rage of a giant

DETROIT - At Over the Limit, Big Show triumphed over World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger by disqualification. Though the match’s result ultimately denied The World’s Largest Athlete the World Title, his rage made “The All-American American” pay dearly for retaining his greatest “trophy.”

From the opening bell, the Joe Louis Arena was electrified by the extremely intense battle between the outspoken champion who knows how to win and the angry giant with the iron fist. Though Big Show’s power served as a definite advantage from the word go, Swagger countered with strategic moments of pure aggression. However, before a clear resolve could take place, Swagger suddenly got himself disqualified, smashing Big Show over the head with the championship.

Though Swagger continued his assault with a chair after the match, the rage -filled World’s Largest Athlete quickly turned the tables, chokeslamming Swagger onto the chair with earth-shattering force before knocking the World Champion out with a devastating right.

The fuse for the explosive match-up was lit just four days after the 2010 WWE Draft. Following Big Show’s selection to the SmackDown roster, General Manager Theodore Long wasted no time naming the gigantic Superstar as the No. 1 contender to the World Heavyweight Title.

Over the next few weeks, The World’s Largest Athlete acquainted himself with the two-time collegiate All-American, knocking him out, chokeslamming him through the broadcast table and destroying his cherished, lifetime collection of accolades and trophies. Big Show’s “disrespect of Oklahoma, his daddy and the World Title” helped transform Swagger’s Over the Limit title defense into one of the most personal matches of his career.

When Big Show cost Swagger a non-title match with Kofi Kingston - two days before their Over the Limit showdown – the World Champion attempted to send a message of his own. After attacking his massive challenger during his match with Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre, Swagger stomped on his enormous foe’s hand and tried to blast him with a chair. But, his fierce steel weapon assault was quelled by a devastating right fist of The World’s Largest Athlete. Though Swagger’s move to gain momentum was bold, it only served to further enrage his colossal adversary.

Jack Swagger’s ability to walk out of WWE’s newest pay-per-view with the title is no surprise. Despite his braggadocios demeanor, he has established that he has what it takes to keep the title around his waist at any cost. But, with the awesome display of post-match retribution by his furious No. 1 contender, the WWE Universe is left wondering if anything was settled between Swagger and The World’s Largest Athlete

Results:Rey Mysterio shaves CM Punk's head!

DETROIT – Bald loser. That sums up CM Punk after Rey Mysterio defeated him with a seated crucifix then shaved his head at Over the Limit.

After Mysterio dispatched Punk in their highly-competitive Straight Edge Society Pledge vs. Hair Match, Punk’s minions tried to protect their leader from getting what was coming to him when a hooded stranger attacked Mysterio from behind.

Next, when Luke Gallows and Serena stormed into the ring, it looked like Rey was going to suffer even more at the hands of the S.E.S. But after emerging from an ominous crimson glow, Kane rushed to the ring to help drive off the S.E.S.

After The Big Red Monster chokeslammed Punk – and there was no one left to save the savior – The Ultimate Underdog prepared to take away Punk’s symbol of purity.

After acquiring two pairs of handcuffs that Luke Gallows brought to the ring, Mysterio handcuffed both of Punk’s arms to the ropes and delivered his second hard-hitting 619 of the night. With Punk helpless, Rey delivered the long-awaited head shaving.

It was clearly a cathartic experience for Mysterio – after having to endure months of verbal and physical taunting from Punk and his S.E.S. cronies – and a painful one for Punk.

Mysterio’s victory – besides saving him from having to do the unthinkable and join Punk, Serena, Luke Gallows and who knows who else in the S.E.S. – finally gave him the upper hand he had been seeking since their last two pay-per-view encounters.

With the symbol of Punk’s purity now gone, how will he react? And, what will the members of the S.E.S. do now that their leader has failed to back up his words? Find out on the next SmackDown at 8/7 CT on MyNetworkTV.

Results:Unlimited aggression

DETROIT — Few rivalries in WWE have been as heated as the one between Randy Orton and Edge.

This intense animosity was on full display at Over the Limit where these two Superstars brutally battered each other until literally neither man could go on. With both competitors laying bruised and battered on the floor of Detroit’s Joe Louis Arena, the official counted to 10, resulting in a double count-out.

The viciousness displayed by the former World Tag Team Champions was wildly shocking, but expected after weeks of intense confrontations. Orton had been waiting to get his hands on Edge since the former WWE Champion cost him a No. 1 Contender’s Match on Raw one month ago. Looking to make an immediate impact after being drafted to Monday nights, The Ultimate Opportunist set his sights on his former ally and sadistically Speared him to make a statement to the WWE Universe.

When these two men finally locked up in a singles match, the intensity was palpable. After minutes of devastating in-ring action, the brawl spilled to the arena floor where Orton began to wince in pain from a separated right shoulder. Sensing an opportunity, The Rated-R Superstar went for a Spear on the outside, but missed and went headfirst into the barricade.

The impact was crushing and both competitors were out for the count, victims of the fiery hatred that burned between them.

With no clear winner tonight, will the rivalry between these men rage on? Or will the devastating injuries these Superstars suffered tonight put them out of action? Watch Raw on Monday night to find out.
