The U.S.-Soviet Cold War may be long over, but that doesn’t mean every Moscow export is a warm one – just ask Vladimir Kozlov.
The aggressive Kozlov, a hulking 6-foot-8, 300-pounder, is dangerous both inside and outside of the ring. Trained in several different fighting styles – including Sambo, judo and kickboxing – the Russian Superstar is a brutal, no-nonsense assassin once he steps between the ropes. Kozlov is all business in the ring, punishing opponents with his vicious style and doing so with a sneer on his face. Even his entrance – no music, no fanfare, just a single white spotlight following him – is cold and intimidating.
Prior to coming to WWE, Kozlov was quite successful in his chosen disciplines. He is a former U.S. Open Heavyweight Sambo Champion and U.S. Kickboxing Association International Grappling Champion, as well as a former member of the Ukrainian national football team. And as dominant as he has looked in his early matches, it may only be a matter of time before Kozlov finds the same success in WWE as well.
From Russia, With Love may be a classic film in the 007 series, but it certainly isn’t an adjective one could use to describe the bruiser known as Vladimir Kozlov.
